Labradorite, also known by the name Spectrolite, or Rainbow Moonstone, is a crystal which can have a profound impact on a person’s love life. It is named after the place where it was first found, which is on the Isle of Paul, near Nain, Labrador, Canada. It was discovered there in 1770 by a Moravian missionary.
With a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5, it is rarely seen in mass-merchant jewelry. Instead it is most often used by designers and jewelers who do unique and custom work. Other localities where Labradorite is found include Finland, Russia, India and in the state of Oregon
